உலகமே ஒர்

கிராமமாய்ச்சுருங்கியது

அமெரிக்கா அண்டைமாநிலமானது

ஐரோப்பா பக்கத்து வீடானது

மிக்க மகிழ்சியே!

ஆனால்

எங்கள் நாட்டில் உன்னால்

பல கிராமங்கள் அழிந்தே

போயினவே தெரியுமா?

உழவனுக்காக பண்டிகை

அரசு விடுமுறை

பொங்கலைக் கொண்டாட

உழவன் தான் இங்கில்லை!

கணிப்பொறி கற்றவன் கரையேறினான்

களிமண்ணில் உழைத்தவன் புரைதள்ளினான்!

ஆங்கிலம் பேசுபவன் தழைக்கிறான்

தாய்மொழி பேசுபவன் விழிக்கின்றான்!!!

Looking back @ Year 2009

Last three years have been pretty good for me.

In particular year 2009 started with a trip to Shirdi on Jan 1st. Had a good dharsan and stayed overnight in Shirdi itself. In the next couple of days went on to visit Ajantha & Ellora as well.
All of a sudden without much of notice my third US trip got scheduled in March.
We arranged a family marriage in June.
We had a great time in a get-together to introduce my sisters kid to the entire family in July.
We started rocking in corporate football this year .. icing in the cake was silver medal in corporate olympiad in October.
Had a great vacation in December. In particular went on a trip to Goa for 4 days :)

It would be hard to take years 2007 to 2009 out of my memory for a long-time to come :)

Good bye 2009 and am pretty sure 2010 is going to be another great year filled with lots & lots of opportunities for us to grab. LETS GO and make this New Year count for us...

A German once visited a temple under construction where he saw a sculptor making an idol of God. Suddenly he noticed a similar idol lying nearby. Surprised, he asked the sculptor, "Do you need two statues of the same idol?" "No," said the sculptor without looking up, "We need only one, but the first one got damaged at the last stage." The gentleman examined the idol and found no apparent damage. "Where is the damage?" he asked. "There is a scratch on the nose of the idol." said the sculptor, still busy with his work. "Where are you going to install the idol?"

The sculptor replied that it would be installed on a pillar twenty feet high. "If the idol is that far, who is going to know that there is a scratch on the nose?" the gentleman asked. The sculptor stopped his work, looked up at the gentleman, smiled and said, "I will know it."

நண்பன் ஒருவன் பல வருடங்கள் காதலித்து பின்பு பெற்றோர் சம்மததுடன்
கல்யாணம் செய்து கொண்டான்.

மாதங்கள் கடந்தன ஆனால் அவன் மனைவி கருவுறவில்லை. கேட்கவாவேண்டும் இந்த சமூகத்தை; விசாரிப்பது போலும், அறிவுரை கூறுவது போலும் பலவாறு தர்ம சங்கடங்களை தெரிந்தோ தெரியாமலோ கொடுக்க துவங்கினார்

நண்பனும் அவன் மனைவியும் மனதுக்குள் வருந்தினாலும் வெளியில் காண்பித்து கொள்ளவில்லை.

இப்படியாக நாட்கள் நகர்ந்தன. என் நண்பனுக்கு கிரிக்கெட் விளையாடும் பழக்கம் உண்டு. அப்படி ஒரு முறை IDBI மைதானத்தில் விளையாடி கொண்டிற்கும் பொழுது அவனுடைய ஒரு நண்பனுக்கு குழந்தை பிறந்த செய்தி கேட்டு சந்தோஷம் அடைந்தான்

அன்றே விளையாடிவிட்டு அவன் நண்பன் வீட்டிற்கு சென்றான் வாழ்த்து தெரிவிக்க. அங்கே காத்திருந்தது அவனுக்கு அதிர்ச்சி!

குழந்தையை பார்த்துவிட்டு வெளியில் வந்த அவனை சிவந்த கண்களுடன் வரவேற்றார் நண்பனின் தாய்.

அவள் கேட்ட முதல் கேள்வி 'நீ எங்கே வந்தாய் இங்கு ?' நண்பனுக்கு ஒன்றும் புரியவில்லை ஏன் இப்படி கேட்கிறார்கள் என்று!

அவர்கள் அடுத்து 'உனக்கு தான் குழந்தை இல்லை என்று ஆகி விட்டதே இவன் குழந்தை நன்றாக இருக்க வேண்டும் என்ற எண்ணம் வேண்டாம் ?' என்றார்கள். இவனுக்கு ஒரு பக்கம் வெட்கம் பிடுங்கியது ஏன் ஏனென்றால் அவர்கள் பேசி கொண்டிருந்தது வீட்டின் வெளிப்புறம். சாலையில் பலர் இவர்களை பார்த்துகொண்டிருந்தார்கள். மற்றொரு பக்கம் நாம் அந்த குழந்தைக்கு எந்த கெடுத்தலும் நினைக்கவில்லையே பின்பு ஏன் இவர்கள் இப்படி பேசுகிறார்கள் என்று புரியாமல் விழித்து கொண்டிருந்தான்.

அவர்களோ திட்டுவதை நிறுத்துவதாக இல்லை இவனுக்கு பாதி கோபம் பாதி அழுகையாக அந்த இடத்தை விட்டு வேகமாக கிளம்பினான்.

சில மாதங்களுக்கு பின்னால் அவன் கேள்வி பட்ட விஷயம் அவனை உயிருடன் கொன்றது. அந்த குழந்தைக்கு பிறப்பிலேயே ஏதோ ஊனம் ஏற்பட்டு இருக்கிறது. இறைவா இது என்ன புது சோதனை என்று வருந்திய அவன் போன முறை அவன் நண்பனின் தாய் கத்தியதால் அந்த வீட்டின் பக்கம் போக வில்லை இம்முறை.

விதி அவனை விட்டு வைக்கவில்லை. அவனுடைய நண்பன் சில சொந்தகாரர்களுடன் வந்து இவனை அதே IDBI மைதானத்தில் உருட்டு கட்டையால் அடித்துவிட்டு இவனால் தான் அவன் குழந்தைக்கு ஊனம் ஏற்பட்டது என்று திட்டிவிட்டு போனான்.

குழந்தைக்கு எதனால் அப்படி ஆனது என்று சொல்லும் அளவுக்கு என் நண்பன் ஒன்றும் மருத்துவர் இல்லை! ஆனாலும் இதற்கும் அவனுக்கும் எந்த சம்மந்தமும் இல்லை என்று மட்டும் உறுதியாக சொன்னான் அவனை நம்பும் நண்பர்களிடம்!!!

"இனி
தாங்குவதற்கு நெஞ்சில் உரமும் இல்லை
அழுவதற்கு கண்ணில் கண்ணீரும் இல்லை! "

அங்கு நடந்தவை எதுவும் இன்று வரை என் நண்பன் அவன் மனைவியிடம் சொல்லவில்லை.

இதுவரை பெண்களை தான் கிண்டல் செய்வார்கள் பாவம் என்று நினைத்திருந்த என் நண்பன் இந்த சம்பவத்திற்கு பின்னால் அவன் மனைவியை நினைத்து மிகவும் வேதனை அடைந்தான். ஆம் ஒரு ஆடவனுக்கே இந்த நிலை என்றால் பாவம் பெண்கள் இந்த சமூகம் அவர்களை என்ன பாடு படுத்தும்.

நண்பர்களே,
குழந்தையின்மை என்பது
ஓர் குறைபாடே அன்றி
குற்றமில்லை!!

அன்றில் இருந்து இன்று வரை என் நண்பன் இது வரை அவன் நண்பர்கள் கல்யாணத்திற்கு மற்றும் வளைகாப்பு போன்ற விழாக்களில் கலந்து கொள்வது கிடையாது. ஏதாவது ஒரு சாக்கு சொல்லி அதில் இருந்து விலகியே இருக்கிறான் எதற்கு வம்பென்று! கடந்தாண்டு மட்டும் ஒரு நண்பனின் கல்யாணத்திற்காக மதுரை சென்று வந்தான். அந்த மதுரைகார நண்பன் ஒரு கிருத்துவன் அவனுக்கு இதில் நம்பிக்கை இருக்காது என்று இவனாக நினைத்து கொண்டதால் !!

நீங்கள் கூடுதல் புத்திசாலிகள்- கெட்டிக்காரர்கள். எந்த ஒரு விஷயத்தையும் பளிச்சென்று பிடித்துக் கொள்ளும் கூர்மதி உங்களுடையது. வெற்றி என்பது உங்களுக்கு ஒரு விளையாட்டுப் பொருள். வாழ்க!

பணம் மட்டுமே வாழ்க்கை அல்ல! உங்களின் பெற்றோர் தங்களது பணிக் காலத்தின் இறுதியில் வாங்கும் ஊதியத் தொகையை, நீங்கள் முதல் மாதமே வாங்கி விடலாம். அதற்காக, அவர்களை விடவும் நீங்கள் அதிபுத்திசாலி என்றோ, திறமையாளர் என்றோ, பெரிய மனிதராகவோ எண்ண வேண்டாம்.

உறவினர்களை அற்ப ஜந்துக்கள் போல நினைக்க வேண்டாம். தம்பி- தங்கைகளைப் படிக்க வைக்க நிறைய செலவு செய்யுங்கள். குடும்பத்தின் பந்த- பாசத்தை, இணைய தளத்தில் டௌன் லோட் செய்ய முடியாது!

வெளிநாட்டுப் பணம் வரலாம்... வெளிநாட்டுப் பண்பாடு வரலாமா? பிற மனிதர்கள் எல்லோருமே நாம் பயன்படுத்திக் கொள்ள மட்டும் அல்ல!

பத்து ரூபாய் கூடுதல் சம்பளம் என்றதும் கம்பெனியைக் கைகழுவுவது கொஞ்ச காலம் பெருமையாகத் தெரியலாம். ஆனால், ஒரு நாள்... இந்தத் துறையின் செயல்பாடே இதனால் ஸ்தம்பிக்க வாய்ப்பிருக்கிறது.

உணவு, உறக்கம், ஓய்வு, காலா காலத்தில் இல்லாதபடி உடம்பை- மனதைச் சீர்குலைத்தால், 40 வயதுக்குப் பிறகு உயிர் வாழ்வதே பிரச்னையாகி விடும். யோசியுங்கள்.

எப்போதும் ஏ.ஸி-யில் இருப்பதால், உங்களுக்கு வியர்வையே வருவதில்லை. அது, உடலுக்குக் கெடுதல். உடலை வியர்க்க விடுங்கள். தண்ணீர்த் தாகம் எடுக்காத போதும் நீர் அருந்துங்கள். கண்ட கண்ட குளிர்பானங்கள் குடிப்பதை விட்டு விட்டு, எலுமிச்சை, ஆரஞ்சு, ஆப்பிள், திராட்சை சாறு அருந்துங்கள். பார்லியும் சேர்த்துக் கொள்ளுங்கள். கண்களிலும் கவனம் வையுங்கள்.

உட்கார்ந்தே இருப்பதால் எடை கூடும்; சர்க்கரை அதிகரிக்கும். கொலஸ்ட்ராலும் பழுத்துக் கிடக்கும். மூளைக்கு வேலை என்பதால் ரத்த அழுத்தமும், சக்கைப் போடு போடும். எல்லாவற்றையும் எதிர்பார்த்து வெற்றி கொள்ளுங்கள்.

காதலிக்கும்போது அல்லது திருமணத்துக்குப் பெண் தேடும் போது... சம்பளம், வேலைவாய்ப்பு, செலவழிக்கும் இயல்பு போன்றவற்றை இரண்டாம்பட்சமாக வைத்துக் கொண்டு, ஒழுக்கம், குணம், பண்பாடான குடும்பம் ஆகிய விஷயங்களுக்கு முன்னுரிமை கொடுங்கள்.

'இன்று போலவே என்றும் சம்பளம் வரும்' என்று கனவு காணாதீர்கள். சிக்கனமாக செலவழிக்கப் பழகுங்கள். உங்களால் அதிகம் செலவழிக்க முடியும் என்பதற்காக, சிரமப்பட்டு சம்பாதிப்பவர்களது மனம் புண்படும்படி ஜம்பம் அடிக்காதீர்கள். அந்நிய நாட்டின் தயவில் அதிகம் சம்பாதிப்பவர்களாகிய பலரும் இந்த நாட்டு வெற்றிக்கு உழைப்பவரை இளக்காரமாக நினைக்காதீர்கள்.

வெளிநாடுகளில் வேலை பார்த்துவிட்டு ஊருக்குத் திரும்பும் போது, ஓட்டல்களில் தங்கிக் கொண்டு... உறவினர்களை- அம்மா- அப்பாவை, ''என்னால் வர முடியாது. இங்கு வந்து பார்... ஆட்டோவுக்கு வேண்டுமானால் காசு தருகிறேன்!'' என்று கூறி அசிங்கப்படுத்தாதீர்கள். பணத்தை விட ரத்தம் கனமானது.

கன்னடர்களிடம் ரஜினி மன்னிப்புக் கேட்டுவிட்டதாக நினைத்துக்கொண்டு சிலர் அவரைத் தாக்குவது தமிழனை வெட்கித் தலைகுனிய வைத்துள்ளது. இது நமது பண்பல்ல.... நிஜமான நன்றி கெட்டத்தனம், என இயக்குநர்கள் அமீர் மற்றும் சீமான் ஆகியோர் கருத்துத் தெரிவித்துள்ளனர்.

ஒகேனக்கல் பிரச்சனையில் தமிழ் திரையுலகம் நடத்திய உண்ணாவிரதத்தில் ரஜினி கன்னடர்களுக்கெதிராக ஆவேசமாகப் பேசினார். இதைத் தொடர்ந்து அவரது குசேலன் திரைப்படத்தை கர்நாடகாவில் திரையிட விடமாட்டோம் என வன்முறையில் இறங்கினர்.

வன்முறையைத் தடுக்கவும், படம் எவ்விதக் குழப்பமுமில்லாமல் வெளியாக வேண்டும் என்பதற்காகவும் ரஜினிகாந்த் ஒரு விளக்கக் கடிதம் அனுப்பினார் கன்னட பிலிம்சேம்பருக்கு. ஆனால் இதை ஏற்க மறுத்தனர் கன்னட அமைப்பினர் சிலர்.

கன்னட பிலிம்சேம்பர் தலைவர் ஜெயமாலா மற்றும் ரஜினியின் நலம் விரும்பிகள் சிலர் கேட்டுக் கொண்டதால், தொலைக்காட்சியில் தோன்றி, தனது பேச்சுக்கு விளக்கம் தெரிவித்தார் ரஜினி.

அதில், ஒட்டு மொத்த கன்னடர்களையும் தான் தாக்கிப் பேசவில்லை என்றும் தமிழர்களுக்கு எதிராக வன்முறையில் இறங்குவோரையும், பொதுச் சொத்துகளுக்குச் சேதம் விளைவிப்போரையும் உதைக்க வேண்டும் என்ற அர்த்தத்தில் பேசியதை தவறாக எடுத்துக் கொண்டார்கள் என்றும் கூறினார்.

இந்த நிகழ்வு தனக்கு மிகப்பெரிய பாடம் என்றும், இதனால் யார் மனமாவது புண்பட்டிருந்தால் அதற்காக தனது வருத்தத்தைத் தெரிவித்துக் கொள்வதாகவும், குசேலன் திரைப்படம் எவ்விதப் பிரச்சினையுமின்றி வெளியாக ஒத்துழையுங்கள் என்றும் ரஜினி கேட்டுக் கொண்டார்.

இதைத் தொடர்ந்து நடிகர் சங்கத் தலைவர் சரத்குமார், சத்யராஜ், டி.ராஜேந்தர் போன்றோர் கண்டனம் தெரிவித்தனர்.

இந்நிலையில் ரஜினிக்கு ஆதரவாக மூத்த இயக்குநர்கள் பாரதிராஜா, பி.வாசு, இளம் இயக்குநர்கள் அமீர், சீமான் ஆகியோர் கருத்துத் தெரிவித்துள்ளனர்.

ரஜினி உயர்ந்த மனிதர் -பாரதிராஜா

ரஜினிக்கும் எனக்கும் கருத்து மாறுபாடுகள் உண்டு. ஆனால் அவர் ஒரு மிகச்சிறந்த மனிதன், மனிதாபிமானத்தில் முதலிடத்தில் நிற்பவர் என்பதில் எந்த மாறுபாடும் கிடையாது.

இப்போது அவர் கன்னட மக்களிடம் வருத்தம் தெரிவித்துப் பேசியதை அவருடைய மனிதாபிமானத்தின் வெளிப்பாடாகத்தான் பார்க்கிறேன். சினிமாவின் நன்மைக்காகப் பேசிய ரஜினியைக் குறை கூறுவதோ கண்டித்துப் பேசுவதோ தேவையற்றது. அதற்கான தகுதியும் இங்கு யாருக்கும் கிடையாது.

நண்பர் ரஜினிகாந்த் எந்த நிலையிலும் மன்னிப்புக் கேட்கக்கூடியவர் அல்ல. எடுத்த முடிவிலிருந்து பின்வாங்கும் மனிதரும் அல்ல. இதை நான் அவருடன் பழகியதிலிருந்து தெரிந்து கொண்டேன்.

வருத்தம் தெரிவிப்பது மனித நேயத்தின் மிக உயர்ந்த பண்பு. நிஜத்திலும் நான் பார்த்த மிக உயரிய மனிதர்களுள் முதலிடத்தில் நிற்பவர் ரஜினி. அடித்த கரங்களுக்கே பூமாலை போடும் அளப்பரிய குணம் அவருக்கு மட்டுமே உண்டு.

எத்தனையோ இக்கட்டான சூழ்நிலைகளை வெற்றிகரமாக சந்தித்து வெளியில் வந்த வீரன் இந்த மனிதன். இந்தச் சூழ்நிலையையும் நேர்கொள்ளக்கூடிய சக்தி அவரிடம் உண்டு.

இதே ரஜினி உண்ணாவிரதத்தில் பேசிய அடுத்த நாளே அவரது கொடும்பாவிகள் கொளுத்தப்பட்டன. அப்போது மருந்துக்குக் கூட ஆதரித்துப் பேச ஒருவரும் முன்வரவில்லை.

சூப்பர்ஸ்டார் என்ற அவரது இமேஜூம், அவரது அதிகபட்ச சம்பளமும்தான் இங்குள்ள சிலருக்குப் பிரச்சினை என்றால் அதற்கு யாரும் ஒன்றும் செய்ய முடியாது. அது 30 வருடங்கள் அவர் கஷ்டப்பட்டதன் விளைவு. மக்கள் கொடுத்தது. புரிந்து கொண்டு பேசுங்கள் என்று கூறியுள்ளார்.

சீமான்:

இப்ப அவர் என்ன சொல்லிட்டார்னு இவங்கல்லாம் குதிக்கிறாங்க... இந்த விளக்கத்தைக் கூட அவர் சொல்லாம விட்டிருக்கலாம். அதனால அவருக்கொண்ணும் நஷ்டமில்லை. ஆனா, இதனால ஒரு வன்முறை வெடிச்சி தியேட்டர்காரங்களும், அப்பாவி ரசிகர்களும், படத்தை விநியோகம் பண்ணியவர்களும் பாதிக்கக் கூடாது என்ற நல்ல எண்ணத்தில்தானே வருத்தம் தெரிவிச்சார்.

வருத்தம் தெரிவிக்கிறதுக்கும், மன்னிப்புக் கேட்பதற்கும் உள்ள வித்தியாசம் தெரியாத அளவுக்கு முட்டாள்களா நாம். ரஜினி ஒரு அரசியல்வாதியல்ல. அவரும் மனிதர்தானே... இங்கே தமிழ்நாட்டில் தமிழர்களோடு வசிக்கிற ஒரு தமிழ் நடிகரை எதற்காக இப்படி அவமானப்படுத்த வேண்டும்.

குசேலன் திரைப்படத்துக்கு வந்த பிரச்சனையை தமிழினினத்துக்கே வந்த சோதனையாகத்தான் நான் பார்க்கிறேன். அதை நாமெல்லோரும் முன்வந்து தீர்த்திருக்க வேண்டும். அப்படிச் செய்யாத பட்சத்தில் ரஜினி, தனி மனிதராகவே நின்று அதைத் தீர்த்த விதத்தைப் பாராட்டுகிறேன். அவர் எந்தத் தவறும் செய்யவில்லை.

யாரையும் கண்மூடித்தனமாக எதிர்ப்பதற்குப் பெயர் பகுத்தறிவுமல்ல என்றார்.

அமீர்:

எப்போது சந்தர்ப்பம் கிடைக்கும் என்று பார்த்து, கண்மூடித்தனமாகப் பேசுவதில் நம்மவர்களுக்கு இணையே இல்லை.

ரஜினி அதிகம் சம்பளம் வாங்குகிறார், தமிழர்கள் பணமெல்லாம் அவருக்குப் போகிறது என்று புலம்புகிறார்கள் சிலர். ரஜினி அதிகம் சம்பளம் வாங்குகிறார் என்றால், அதைக் கொடுக்கும் அளவுக்கு அவர் மூலம் தமிழர்களாகிய நாம் சம்பாதிக்கிறோம் என்றுதானே அர்த்தம். இந்தக் குற்றச்சாட்டுக்களுக்காகவே சொந்தப்படம் தயாரிப்பதை நிறுத்திவிட்டவர் ரஜினி.

அவரைச் சுற்றியுள்ள தமிழர்கள்தானே அவரை வைத்துச் சம்பாதிக்கிறார்கள். ஒரு ரஜினி படம் வருகிறதென்றால் ஒட்டுமொத்த தமிழ் சினிமாவுக்கும் புதுவாழ்வு கிடைக்கிறது. இதை யாராலும் மறுக்க முடியாது.

அப்படிப்பட்ட ஒருவர், தன் விநியோகஸ்தர், தயாரிப்பாளர் மற்றும் ரசிகர்களுக்காகப் பேசியதை மன்னிப்புக் கேட்டுவிட்டார் என்று கூறி, அதில் பப்ளிசிட்டி தேடுவது வெட்கக்கேடானது என்று கூறியுள்ளார்.

நான் பல வருடங்கள் ரஜினியுடன் நெருங்கிப் பழகியவன். தமிழர்களுக்கும், தமிழ்நாட்டுக்கும் ஒரு அவமானமென்றால் முதலில் நின்று குரல் கொடுக்கக் கூடிய மனம் படைத்தவர் ரஜினி. எண்ணத்தால் முழுக்க முழுக்க தமிழராகவே வாழும் அவரைப் பார்த்து எழுப்பப்படும் எந்தக் கத்தல்களும் எடுபடாமலேயே போகும்.

நாமெல்லோரும் சேர்ந்து போராடித் தீர்த்திருக்க வேண்டிய ஒரு விஷயத்தை தனிமனிதராகத் தீர்த்து வைத்திருக்கும் அவரைக் குறை சொல்லிக் கஷ்டப்படுத்துபவர்களை நினைத்து வேதனைப்படுகிறேன்.

என்னுடைய பணக்காரன் படத்தில் அவருக்கு ஒரு வசனம் வைத்திருப்பேன். 'இனி வாழ்வோ சாவோ, எனக்குப் பிடிச்ச இந்த மண்லதான் அது நடக்கணும். அதனால ரிட்டர்ன் என்கிற பேச்சுக்கே இடமில்லைன்னு'. அது சினிமாவுக்காக வைத்த டயலாக் அல்ல.. ரஜினியின் மனதைப் படித்ததால் வைத்தது, என்றார்.

Superstar Rajinikanth hasn't apologized as some "so-called" tamil actors/politicians claim. Please take few mins to go through the actual interview which he has given. Hope this would help clear the air!

" புலி விழுந்தா எலி ஹெலிகாப்டர் ஓட்டுமாம் " -- இப்பொழுது இது தான் நடக்கிறது நடிகர் ரஜினி பற்றியும்.

ரஜினிகாந்திற்கு பணம் ஒரு புரட்டு அல்ல. பாபா பட தோல்வியின் பொழுது பணத்தை திருப்பி தந்தவர் தான் இவர் - நியாபகம் இருக்கட்டும்!! இவரை நம்பி படம் எடுப்பவர்கள் எந்த விதத்திலும் நஷ்டம் அடைய கூடாது என்று கருதுபவர் தான் இந்த ரஜினிகாந்த்.

இப்போழுதும் தயாரிப்பாளர்கள், முதலீட்டாளர்கள் பாதிக்கப்படக் கூடாது என்பதாலும், கர்நாடகத்தில் உள்ள அவருடைய ரசிகர்கள் பாதிக்கப்படக்கூடாது என்பதற்காகவும் தான் வருத்தம் தெரிவித்து இருக்கிறார் மற்றபடி அவர் மன்னிப்பு கேட்கவில்லை.

Today in a tamil paper I read that Jackie Shroff is playing the role of Shridi Sai Baba in the bollywood film 'Malik Ek'.

Pre-closed my Home loan ...

I am glad to inform that I have pre-closed my home loan on 12th July 2008 (that's my 8th wedding anniversary) and have got back the house documents from ICICI Bank on 28th July 2008. Incidently 28th July 2008 happens to be the day I complete 5 years of service in Verizon :)

FYI, I bought this house on 12th July 2001 (1st Wedding anniversary).

Dasavatharam = Fancy dress competition!

I wasn't commenting much on the film as such till date because I watched the movie just yesterday which happened to be my wedding day (12th July). Guys to be very frank I haven't watched a worst movie like this in the recent past :( Before seeing the movie I loved the songs .... but on seeing the picturaization I lost interest in the songs as well now. To me, 'Santhosh Subramanimam' is a very good movie compared to 'Dasavatharam'. Only two characters which are nice to watch are 'Balram Naidu' and 'Japanese Karate Master' .... the rest are all plain trash.

If you want me to share my experience in one line this is how I would say 'I wasted 3 hrs watching a fancy dress competition on my 8th wedding anniversary'.

Today (12-July-2008) is my 8th wedding anniversary and it is really a good feeling which I cannot express in words!

On my first anniversary (12-July-2001) I registered a house in Ramavaram, Chennai with the help of ICICI home loan. Today I am planning to do something which would keep my family happy for a long time. Hope everything goes well!

I am listening to Kuselan songs for past few days and at the first instant the songs wheren't that catchy to me. The only song which was catchy on hearing it from the first time is Cinema Cinema.

I haven't seen the movie 'Dasavadharam' as of now. Though I am fan of Rajinikanth I don't hate other actors! Just for argument sake when somebody talks about Kamal hassan I used to talk against them for fun :)

There were talks all over the place that Kamal hassan has created a world record by acting in 10 different roles in his latest movie 'Dasavadharam'. I really doubt it! How? Check out the following stats:

Since Sachin Tendulkar is with Mumbai Indians I was following their matches alone. Unfortunately due to some bad fielding, bad running between wickets they lost some close matches which costed them the Semi-Finals berth :(

When IPL started I was dreaming that Rajasthan Royals, Mumbai Indians, Delhi Daredevils and Kolkata Knightridders would make it to the Semi-finals stage. I didn't stop dreaming there :) I was thinking that Mumbai Indians and Delhi Daredevils will clash in the finals. It would have been a feast to watch Shewag/Gambir Vs Sachin/Jayasurya.

Since Sachin is out of the tournament its not worth following IPL anymore (for me).

Smoking / Drinking in Indian Films ....

For sometime now I was thinking about this topic! Now that I have some free time let me share my view on this.

Our Honorable Health Ministry is repeatedly saying that actors smoking, drinking on films would encourage their fans, youngsters to take up the habit. So he was saying that film industry should stop showing smoking and drinking scenes in their films! It all started up during Rajinikanth's movie Baba which was released in 2002. The good or bad part in TamilNadu is even Rajinikanth's silence becomes a topic of discussion!!

After that incident Dr. Anbumani Ramadoss requested Superstar Rajinikanth to avoid smoking in his films. Our superstar has accepted that request and stopped smoking in his next films - Chandramukhi and Sivaji.

Now the health Minister is trying to force it in Bollywood also and he is facing opposition there. Lets step back and think whether what Health Minister says makes sense or not!

1. For argument sake lets abide by the logic of Hero's smoking on screen urges lots of youngsters to take up smoking. That being the case then:
1.1 After the release of the movie 'Raghavendra' has youngsters become saints or more spiritual?
1.2 After the release of 'Gandhi' shouldn't the whole of India taken up 'Ahimsa' or has our country become non violent? [Don't forget unfortunately Gujarat was hit by a massive riots few years back :( ]
1.3 After the release of Chak-De-India has everybody taken up Hockey as their favorite sport? [Still majority of the Indians are crazy about Cricket only. Is it good or bad is altogether a different argument.]
1.4 Do we need to stop further movies of Superman because youngsters might imitate him in real-life?
1.5 Do we need to ban all war time movies as it might provoke fresh war ideas into people's mind??
1.6 Do we need to ban 'History' as a subject in schools? As they talk about World War - I & II? ?

I feel its wrong to presume that films ONLY have bad influence on people. Aren't the people and youth of our country have no mind of their own? Btw why are film industry is always targetted during election times or whenever a party wants to be in news? Is it because they are the easy targets?

Will politicians do these in the first place?

1. Can they bring a rule to ban the supply of Ciggarattes and Alcohol in India?
I bet no body will do it. Reason being lots of people are surviving based on it and they will become jobless. Also they will be worried about their votes in the next election.

2. Can all political parties first force and implement that their party cadres should not smoke or drink?

3. Can they ask one of the famous personality whose main business is producing alcoholic beverages to bring down his business?
4. Can they try taking a census on how many of them actually don't smoke or drink in Health Ministry itself? etc.,

Let's, not do moral policing and, stop picking on easy targets like entertainment industry. When Censor board has certified a movie then what more do the politicans need?

Just because,
1. Sachin Tendulkar is acting in Hero Honda advertisement
OR
2. Vikram / Vijay acted in Coca-Cola
OR
3. Rajinikanth smokes in the movie I don't think everybody is going to go and smoke or drink coke or buy hero honda bike :)

It's true that once major personalities appear in an movie/ads they make people stop and look at it. But unless or until the individual perceive the importance of the product I don't think anybody is going to go after it! Atleast that's how I am. I don't smoke or drink but I watch all movies of Rajinikanth and am a fan of him. I have heard lots of good advices indirectly from him via his movies, media etc., but his onscreen smoking has never got into my mind and forced me to smoke!!! That said, i enjoy this stylish actor's each and every move in the film including the way he smokes. Whats wrong in it?

Atleast after Chandramukhi & Sivaji [where he hasn't smoked] became box-office hits politicians should understand that Superstar Rajinikanth is not depending only on his smoking skills!!!! People pay money to watch him on the screen and what ever he does is liked by the masses.

Yes, I have read about some serial killers in the past and they have claimed that some films where their examples!!! I feel sorry for their ignorance and all i have to say is there can be exceptions but exceptions can never become an example!

My views on Astrology...

I am surprised by how people claim that they can predict others future. Astrology may be true but 'real' astrologers are very rare to find.

Normally if we watch any TV channels or news paper on any day each of them would say different predictions for the same star/sun sign. Why aren't the astrologers able to make similar predictions? This has made me think on why are these guys telecasting such a program to start with. Do they just want to play with people's sentiments or belief?

I feel most of the astrologers or palmists does pure mind reading rather than the mathematical calculation which they are supposed to do.

If you have visited some astrologers you would have heard these statements in some form or other:

1. You should have faced a major hurdle (or) life threatening incident some time back
2. You have a major hurdle to cross soon
3. You should be having some family problems now
4. You wouldn't be having much of your relatives support
5. You are generous and people would be exploiting you!
6. You will be earning but don't know where the money goes!
7. You will be having problems in your office
8. There is a stuff which is blocking your growth. We need to do a pooja to get around it
9. etc.,

All of us are human. But the one with strong heart overcomes these statements with ease. But unfortunately world is filled with more people with weaker hearts.

Aren't most of the above points very generic and won't it fit almost for everybody :)? That being the case, is it really worth for people to start worrying about those at back of their mind?

I feel that astrologers always look for easy targets. If an astrologer says that 'your husbands life path seems to be short due to past karma!! and it can be rectified with a Rs. 10000 pooja' most of the ladies would (blindly) accept for that pooja. I am not blaming the ladies here. I can understand that it's normal tendency to try and do what ever we can to save our dear ones. Most of the astrologers exploit these sort of sentiments with ease.

Bottomline, I am not against 'Astrology' as a whole. All I am saying is the place is flooded with petty astrologers who just do it for business and nothing else.

My principle is, if the astrologer has said something good then enjoy it and go ahead. If he has told something bad/negative just ignore those points and move on in life. If not, your mind will be occupied by those negative points which would indirectly lead to our own downfall -- be it health or career etc.,

Sameway its sad to know that there are still people who don't even search for a job just because their astrologer have told him that he won't get a stable job till 30 yrs??? This is what I call it as 'negative influence'.

Influencing others is one of the biggest gift and one should not misuse it. Astrologers have that influencing power so they should actually not let out any negative points to the people. Informations should be shared in such a way that we don't demotivate someone and screw their life!

I don't want to get into whether 'Astrology is science or arts', 'Astrology is real or fake' etc., all i want to convey is lets believe in ourself and move on in life.

Let's not spend our hard earned money on people who claim to predict our future. Be truthful and lead a honest life that should be more than enough. Also knowing your future is kind of losing the thrill in life :) If at all one knows when he is going to get married, when he is going to die etc., then what's the thrill in life. Let's take life as it comes and enjoy each and every moment of it. Rather than taking a fast track to know the future from fake astrologers :)

To me,
if we aren't confident on ourself;
if we are feeling insecure in life
then we believe in astrology too much :)

Once you are in trouble, Instead of blindly believing the astrologer think about this:

When GOD solves your problems, you have faith in his ablities.
But if GOD does not solve your problems, it means he has faith in your ablities.

So just believe in your abilities, try hard and decide your own future instead of trusting a third person (read it as, astrologer) to predict your future.

Just go over the short story which would tell us what will make a person to be great! It was an interesting read for me when I first received it as an email few days back.

Visiting that Ragavendra temple in Bangalore is almost more than a routine for her. She has not seen him ever before in the temple.

He was sitting on the floor with his closed eyes, folded legs and locked fingers in 'Gnana Mudra'. He looked strange and different with a turban on his head and the very long flowing beard. Some thing was there in his face that attracted her. She could not understand what that was.

She finished her 'darshan' and came out; she saw the man was walking in the corridor. Again something was happening in her, she could not understand what was that. She was telling herself, "a poor old man. I have to help him". She ran to him, gave rupees ten in his hand and forced him to accept. He smiled, expressed a reverence like a 'prasadam' by keeping it in the forehead and thanked her by keeping the hand in prayer position ('Namasthey').

As she came out, she saw the man was getting into his Mercedes Benz, she was perplexed, shivered and ran to him and said, "Sir (Ayya!), Please forgive me, I did not do this to insult you. By seeing your dress and appearance, I thought you are struggling in life and offered you the money. It is a blunder. I am sorry. Please forgive me. Please give me back that money. I am sorry".

The man with the fake beard and turban laughed and replied her politely, "Ammaa.. There is no mistake of yours. It is the other way. The creator is again and again reminding me through some body, "You are nothing. You are not special. Everybody is equal in front of me". He keeps on sending this message again and again and today you happened to be a medium. That's it. Thanks a ton". His hand again went to prayer position, expressed gratitude to the lady and he went into his car.

When the lady realized the man was none other than Superstar Rajinikanth - Asia's number one paid actor, he has left the place. She did not know what to do. With tears in her eyes, she was starring at the direction that the car went.

Experience

We are being questioned about our experience in what ever we do in life!

Like, if you go for any job interview the first question they ask is how much of experience do you have in this trade!

Reason being,

They don't have time to train a fresher!
They don't want to risk the project by hiring a fresher. Instead they wanted to get an experienced guy who can wrap the project at faster pace and help the company get the profit earlier!!
etc.,

They don't have time, they don't want to take risk fair enough! but isn't marriage a bigger proposal than a companies project :) It's a life time project for any individual. Why aren't people asking for 'experience' in it alone? :)

May be since they know, its anyway going to take 10 months to give birth to a baby irrespective of how experienced one is!

May be since both of them are freshers (hopefully!!) they have time to teach each other!

Once X asked Y, "What is the secret behind your happy married life?"

Y said, "You should share responsibilities with due love and respect to each other. Then absolutely there will be no problems."

Y said, "In my house, I take decisions on bigger issues where as my wife decides on smaller issues. We do not interfere in each other's decisions."

Y said," Smaller issues like which car we should buy, how much amount to save, when to visit home town, which Sofa, air conditioner, refrigerator to buy, monthly expenses, whether to keep a maid or not etc are decided by my wife. I just agree to it"

I used to watch 'Sai Baba' Serial in Vijay TV when I was in India. Its almost 2 months since i watched now :( From my memory I have just reproduced the title song of that serial.

Today is my birthday and I was born on the same day 32 years ago (23-Mar-1976).

This is the second consecutive birthday I am all alone here in Dallas and missing the fun I used to have with Sai :( Incidently today is Sai's 'Nakshatra' birthday as well :)

I have no major plans today. I wanted to go to a temple and then have some good meal :)

Update:

Went to Shridi Sai Baba Temple in Plano. It was a very nice feeling and I was there for approx 20 minutes.

1. உருளை கிழங்கு,

2. வெங்காயம்,

3. தக்காளி,

4. பச்சை மிளகாய்,

5. இஞ்சி பூண்டு பேஸ்ட்,

6. கருவேப்பிலை &

7. கொத்தைமல்லி

செய்முறை:

உருளை கிழங்கை வேக வைத்து உறித்து மசிக்கவும். பின் கடாயில் ஒரு கறண்டி எண்ணை ஊற்றி கடுகு, சீரகம், வெங்காயம் மற்றும் தக்காளி போட்டு நன்றாக 1 நிமிடம் வதக்கவும்.

பின்பு இஞ்சி பூண்டு, பச்சை மிளகாய், மஞ்சள் தூள் மற்றும் உப்பு போட்டு வதக்கவும்.

பின் மசித்த உருளைகிழங்கை அதனுடன் சேர்கவும். பின் தேவையான அளவு தண்ணிர் ஊற்றி 5 நிமிடம் கழித்து கொத்தைமல்லி போட்டு இறக்கவும்.

சூடான உருளை கிழங்கு மசியல் ரெடி :)

WWW is not dependable ...

"In US, WWW is not dependable" -- this is the statement I heard from my friend today. I was thinking that he is pissed off with his internet connection :) but I was wrong.

According to him WWW stands for,

W - Weather [for ex: it rains in the morning, sunny in the afternoon, thunderstorm in the evening :)]

W - Wife [doesn't need an explanation]

W - Work [any time one can be laid-off here :(]

Top job interview blunders

Below are the couple of blunders which candidates have done during their interview process :)

- Candidate answered cell phone and asked the interviewer to leave her own office because it was a "private" conversation. [I wasn't able to control my laughter after reading this :)]

- Candidate told the interviewer he was fired for beating up his last boss.
